The lives of the living Jordans.

William Jordan 6th (Bill)

The most recent business at Holme Mills was run by William Jordan 6th (Bill) and his brother David. Bill served his milling apprenticeship at Henry Simon Ltd and also spent time travelling. He played drums for a French rock band and then travelled to America where he discovered the phenomenon of granola. He brought this knowledge back to the UK and joined forces with his brother, creating the famous cereal brand, Jordans.

The origins of Mothering Sunday and Mother’s Day

We all know that the modern Mothering Sunday is the celebration of the maternal characters in our lives such as mums, step-mums and grandmothers. We often shower them with gifts and special days out, but the holiday was not always celebrated in this way. Treat your mum to a day at Jordans Mill! Book your table for our Mother’s Day lunch in the Riverside Café:

Jordans Mill has won a national award!

We’re delighted to announce that we have received the recognition for ‘Quality Food and Drink’ as a result of our annual Visit England inspection!

Jordans Mill is one of 76 sites that have been given a 2018 Attraction Accolade by Visit England! We are proud to provide a great experience to our visitors, and we look forward to welcoming many more tourists so that we can showcase what Bedfordshire has to offer.

It’s Real Bread Week at Jordans Mill!

Jordans Mill are joining in with the international campaign which celebrates Real Bread by encouraging people to start making their own bread at home. We will be hosting a ‘Best Home Loaf’ competition on our social media platforms and one lucky winner will receive a baking hamper.

Real Bread Week runs from the 23rd February to the 3rd March and is an annual celebration of additive-free breadmaking.
