JORDANS MILL - HALF DAY TOUR

HALF DAY TOUR OF JORDANS MILL WITH LUNCH

OR CREAM TEA

MILL TOUR TIMES 11.30 AM AND 2.30 PM

Duration 60-75 Minutes

Tucked away on the banks of the River Ivel near Biggleswade, Jordans Mill is in the heart of Rural Bedfordshire.

At one time there were over 400 Mills in Bedfordshire, Jordans Mill is now only one of a handful of working watermills in the country. Lovingly restored, Jordans Mill provides the visitor with a fascinating insight into the heritage of flour milling in Britain and the unique story of the Jordan family.

Visit the Mill and its unique Mill Gardens and combine your visit with either a tasty lunch or afternoon tea in the Riverside Cafe.

The Mill produces stoneground flour which is suitable for bread making and is available to purchase in our gift shop.

Set in 250 acres of rolling Hertfordshire countryside, Knebworth House is one of England's most colourful stately homes. It is remarkable for having been in the Lytton family for more than 500 years.

There have been gardens at Knebworth House since at least the 17th Century, but the present layout dates largely from the Edwardian era. The architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, who married into the Lytton family, simplified the ornate beds and statuary of the Victorian garden with lawns and avenues of pollarded lime trees.

Wander at your leisure through the delightful 28 acre gardens and a Dinosaur Trail, where 72 life-sized dinosaurs can be found grazing amongst the rhododendrons and the Redwoods.
