Jordans Mill are joining in with the international campaign which celebrates Real Bread by encouraging people to start making their own bread at home. We will be hosting a ‘Best Home Loaf’ competition on our social media platforms and one lucky winner will receive a baking hamper.

Real Bread Week runs from the 23rd February to the 3rd March and is an annual celebration of additive-free breadmaking.

The Jordans are big supporters of the Real Bread movement due to the family connection to flour milling which dates back to 1855.

Visitors can also buy ingredients needed to make their own bread from the Mill Shop, including a selection of local flours. The shop will also be giving away free recipe cards to inspire visitors.

We hope you will all get involved and make your own bread at home. Why not try experimenting with new flavours and different loaf types.

When you make bread at home you know exactly what ingredients you’re using in your dough and so you can make a much healthier loaf.

Guided and Self-guided tours of The Mill will be running at 11:30am and 2:30pm, Tuesday-Sunday and will explain this history. To book a Guided tour of The Mill call: 01767 603940.

Follow the event on the Jordans Mill Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
