During November, the team had lots of fun coming up with ways to raise money for two charities, Children in Need and Alopecia UK. A raffle was held for a luxury Jordans Mill hamper, which was won by Emma and Paul Rogger. There was also a ‘guess the number of jelly beans in the jar’ competition. This was won by Penelope Friss, otherwise now known as The Bean Counter, who guessed the right number of jelly beans (563) to win the jar! Penelope has kindly re-donated the jellybeans for our next charitable cause. One of our chefs did a sponsored silence for the day, and another one of our chefs bravely had all of her hair shaved off. It’s ok, we’ve lined her up with crazy wigs and hats for the winter to keep her warm!
A total of £507.22 was collected. Thank you very much to everyone who contributed in raising this important money for the two charities.
Looking for somewhere to enjoy a Christmas lunch? Come and join us at ‘Holme’ for a veritable festive feast from 2nd-23rd December where we will be serving turkey or vegetarian lunches with all the trimmings in the Riverside Cafe!
We are also taking bookings for groups of over 30 people to enjoy Christmas lunch in our private dining room overlooking the Flour Mill and River Ivel. Please call 01767 603940 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming BBC Three Counties Radio! The Nick Coffer Show was broadcast live from here. Nick spoke to some of our team and he got to go inside the Flour Mill and discover the historical side of the site. He also had great things to say about the new Mill Store and Riverside Cafe. We hope to welcome them again soon.
